Kagadi district residents have been asked to remain calm as the delayed Kagadi piped water project is set to be commissioned with water flowing by April this year.
This has been revealed by engineer, John Twinomujuni the Commissioner from Urban Water and Sewage Services under the Ministry of Water and Environment while speaking to journalists after a closed door meeting with Kagadi district officials at the district Headquarters on Thursday.
Twinomujuni says the Kagadi piped water project has faced delays because of delayed importation of construction materials into the country and compensation of land owners.
He has however, threatened to terminate the contract in case the contractor who was paid 82% fails to let the water flow in the next two months.
Kagadi Resident District Commissioner, Lillian Ruteraho has applauded the commissioner for intervening for the progress of the project asking the contractor to fulfill his pledge of completing the work by April.
Ndibwami Bahunga Yosia, the Kagadi district chairperson is upbeat Kagadi residents will have water flowing by April.
